Welcome to Hillel Community Day School!

We are excited to share that Hillel is now a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), focusing on inquiry-based learning beginning at pre-K. At Hillel Community Day School, we envision a future where every student embraces their individual and collective Jewish identity, achieves academic excellence, and becomes a compassionate Jewish global citizen.

As the oldest Zionist Day School in Upstate New York, with a rich history of 76 years of Jewish education, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing, diverse, and inclusive environment that fosters a love for learning, a deep connection to Jewish culture, ethics, and a sense of responsibility to the world.

At Hillel, our philosophy focuses on holistic, integrated education where we combine Jewish values with rigorous academics to develop critical thinking skills, cultural awareness, and a strong sense of social responsibility in our students. We also take a holistic approach to safety and wellness at school, addressing cognitive, physical, emotional, and behavioral aspects to ensure a supportive environment for all.

At Hillel, our primary intention is to provide a transformative educational experience rooted in Jewish values, academic excellence, and community engagement with a commitment to nurturing the whole child. We aim to empower our students to become compassionate Jewish global citizens who will make a positive impact on the world.

Graduates of Hillel School are known for their outstanding qualities and capabilities that set them apart. They are engaging Jewish global citizens who possess a strong sense of cultural identity and are intellectually stimulating. They have the ability to negotiate a wide circle of friends from diverse backgrounds, showcasing their inclusive and welcoming nature.

These graduates are bilingual, fluent in modern Hebrew, and knowledgeable in biblical texts, allowing them to engage with Jewish traditions at a deep and meaningful level. They are adept at traversing all streams of Jewish practices, enabling them to participate in a wide variety of Jewish life experiences, including synagogue activities.

In addition, Hillel School graduates are curious and physically active, engaging with nature and embracing a healthy lifestyle. They are family-oriented and community-minded individuals who understand the importance of collective work and personal responsibility in contributing positively to society. With these skills and attributes, Hillel School graduates are well-equipped to succeed in diverse environments and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Join us on this exciting journey as we prepare our students for a future filled with learning, growth, and meaningful contributions to society. On behalf of our Hillel School team thank you for visiting our website.
